Real Madrid fans react as Everton and Manchester United linked with James Rodriguez

Everton are reportedly rivalling Manchester United and other European heavyweights in a bid to bring Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez to Goodison Park this summer – and Real Madrid supporters have reacted on Twitter.

Rodriguez, 28, is completely surplus to requirements at Real Madrid as Zinedine Zidane looks to get rid of a number of players this summer from his bloated squad. Others including Gareth Bale and Dani Ceballos are to be placed on the chopping block.

Spanish outlet AS have claimed that both Everton and Manchester United are both keen to bring former Monaco and Porto star Rodriguez to the Premier League for the first time, with the Colombian having played just 13 times this season.

A move to Merseyside would see Rodriguez reunited with former Real boss Carlo Ancelotti – while Rodriguez has been long linked with Old Trafford. He has a contract at Real Madrid until the summer of 2021.

Set to enter the final 12 months of his current deal, the report claims he can leave for a bargain £35million. Everton and United are not the only sides interested, with Serie A giants Napoli and Juventus both keen on Rodriguez.

Amid reported interest from Everton, Real Madrid supporters have reacted on Twitter to the news that Rodriguez could move to Ancelotti’s side and many believe that such a move would be hugely beneficial for the Colombian icon.
