Real Madrid fans react as Carlo Ancelotti leaves Everton

Real Madrid have completed a sensational swoop to make Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti their new manager on a three year contract.

The Italian boss spent two years at the Bernabeu from 2013 to 2015, winning the Copa del Rey and the Champions League.

The Toffees appointed Ancelotti in December 2019. After a strong start to 2020/21, he could only manage a pretty disappointing 10th place finish.

The departure still represents a big blow though. Ancelotti had used his contacts book to good effect.

Signing players like James Rodriguez, Allen and Abdoulaye Doucoure proved good pieces of business and helped the Toffees get off to a flyer.

Clearly the boss wasn’t going to get it right in one transfer window. Now, it would seem as though a move back to Real Madrid has proved too strong to resist.

Ancelotti to Real Madrid; Everton have to get next appointment right

Names such as Nuno Espirito Santo and Rafa Benitez will inevitably be linked and both could be decent appointments. for the Goodison Park outfit.

Everton are a club that has badly lost its way and when the legendary Ancelotti can’t revive things, it’s not a great sign for the famous club.

Therefore, the Toffees need to get their next move spot on and can’t delay when it comes to naming a successor.

Interestingly it would seem as though Real Madrid fans are divided over whether his appointment is a good thing.

He failed to win the league title in Spain but has won the domestic top-flight in England, Italy, Germany and France.

Los Blancos were forced to watch their city rivals Atletico Madrid parade the league title this season and that will have hurt.

It would seem as though the jury is out on whether or not Ancelotti is the man to bring back the glory days – given it’s so long since he worked in Madrid.

After a season spent chasing Atletico, their fans will hope for better fortunes next season.
