'Real character': Tottenham fans react as released player joins Watford
Danny Rose will sign for Watford when his long-standing association with Tottenham comes to an end this summer.
He will join on a free transfer and provides the Hornets with some experience ahead of next season.
Rose has enjoyed a bad couple of years at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
He fell way out of the reckoning under Jose Mourinho and didn’t force his way into the team under Ryan Mason either.
Rose made 214 appearances for Spurs, scoring 10 goals and claiming 29 assists. He also collected 29 caps for England during his time at the club.
The 30-year-old has already spent a brief time at Watford, making seven appearances for the club in 2009.
He is an established left-back and his arrival will bolster the Spurs squad considerably ahead of the new campaign.
Xisco Munoz will hope to ensure Premier League survival with the Hornets boasting supremely ambitious owners.
Making the switch early will give him a full pre-season to get match fit and that will bode well for Watford.
Rose to Watford: Tottenham fans wish him well
Given that he’s hardly played in recent times, it might be surprising to know that supporters of Tottenham have wished Rose well.
Many fell he will have plenty left to offer a club like Watford and think the move suits all parties.
Rose simply needs to play football and if he can do that he could still thrive in the Premier League.
Following this afternoon’s announcement, Tottenham fans have been quick to jump on Twitter to praise the job Rose has done.
Here is what they had to say as the left-back gets himself hooked up with a new club.
