Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Crystal Palace are “ready to announce” the signing of Malcolm Ebiowei.

The transfer guru took to Twitter on Friday afternoon with the exciting update for Eagles fans.

Romano had claimed a few days ago that Ebiowei to Palace was a “done deal”.

Now, the Eagles have reportedly completed all the paperwork, and the next step is the official announcement.

Ebiowei is out of contract at Derby County at the end of the month.

Multiple clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United, were in pursuit of the 18-year-old.

However, Palace appear to have beaten both Spurs and the Red Devils to the player.

Ebiowei is widely regarded as one of the most promising youngsters in English football.

The former Arsenal academy talent joined Derby last summer after a stint at Rangers.

He spent the first half of the campaign in the Rams’ youth setup.

Ebiowei scored seven times in seven Under-18 appearances and also featured for their U23s.

He then went on to make 16 Championship appearances for the Rams, registering one goal and two assists.

Playing as a right-sided winger under Wayne Rooney, Ebiowei showed huge potential.

He earned rave reviews for his displays last season, shining despite the Rams’ struggles and eventual relegation.

Rooney has hailed Ebiowei’s “incredible” attitude, adding that he was “excellent” in the 1-1 draw with Coventry in March.

And EFL analyst George Elek has described the youngster as an “absolute talent”.

Ebiowei is an exciting signing for Palace, and fans will no doubt be eager to see how he does in pre-season.
