Celtic have recently been linked with a move for Reading defender Liam Moore – and some of their fans on Twitter have responded by claiming they would accept him leaving to join the Scottish club.
The Daily Record claims that the defender has been placed on Celtic’s transfer radar and he’s viewed as an alternative to their current target Shane Duffy of Brighton.
It is understood that English Championship side Reading value the centre-back at £4.5million, but due to their financial issues there may be scope for negotiations over the transfer sum.
Reigning Scottish champions Celtic are in the market for defensive additions in the summer window and now have Reading’s captain on their shortlist.
Moore made 44 appearances across all competitions last season for Reading in the Championship and has been an ever-present in their starting XI in recent years.
The 27-year-old is a ball-playing centre-back that is comfortable in possession, but also a leader in defence that is strong in the air and he reads the game well too.
He represented England on the international stage up to the Under-21 age group and may be the type of ready-made signing that could help Neil Lennon’s Celtic.
A selection of Reading supporters on social media have explained that they wouldn’t mind offloading their captain to Celtic.
Here are some Reading fans discussing the speculation on Moore:
Sad to see him go, but 4.5 is good. Replace with Tom mcintyre and buy ovie, no brainer.
