Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Dayot Upamecano from RB Leipzig this summer but a supporter of the north London club has been ruined by the German side’s official Twitter account – after a Tweet about the defender.

The 21-year-old’s stunning performances for Leipzig have seen him become one of Europe’s best defenders, despite his tender age. Such is his form, The Telegraph have claimed Tottenham are just one of eight European clubs interested.

Indeed, the report claims Spurs are rivalling Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barcelona in pursuit of the 15-time France Under-21 international. He has a £72million release clause.

Leipzig posted a Tweet to their fans, uploading two pictures of Upamecano as a child and asking supporters who it was. A Spurs fan responded cheekily, claiming it is a “future Spurs player”.

Tottenham are likely to be after a new central defender this summer, especially with Jan Vertonghen expected to leave the club at the end of June. Both Barcelona and Inter Milan have been strongly linked with a move for the ex-Ajax star.

However, Leipzig’s admin were not impressed – with their mentions full of Tottenham fans responding to the original Tweet. Indeed, the official account brutally responded, suggesting Spurs have no future.

Leipzig, of course, knocked Tottenham out of the Champions League knockout stages just a matter of weeks ago.
