Ray Parlour urges Arsenal to swoop for 'superb' £30m player, he reportedly wants Gunners move too
Arsenal legend Ray Parlour thinks Yves Bissouma would be a great transfer for the Gunners.
The 24-year-old midfielder has been superb for Brighton since his move in 2018.
Indeed, Arsenal have previously been linked with Bissouma – since the January transfer window, in fact.
Bissouma reportedly wants Gunners move?
According to football.london, Arsenal made contact with Michael N’Cho, Bissouma’s agent, at the start of the year.
The report also claimed he would choose the Gunners over any other Premier League club if they came in for him.
More recently, football.london reported that Bissouma has instructed N’Cho to try and get him to the Emirates Stadium.
In May, The Times reported that Bissouma wants to leave Brighton and could go for a £30m fee this summer.
“Lots of energy”
Parlour, himself a top midfielder during his playing career, reckons the Mali international ticks Arsenal’s boxes.
“Bissouma will be superb,” he told talkSPORT (7:26am, 25/6/21).
“I think he is efficient, he has got lots of energy, good on the ball, he is young enough for Arsenal to get four years out of him.”
Arsenal transfer talk: Bissouma is “exceptional”
Bissouma looked a cut above for the Seagulls last season, showing quality and consistency.
He made 39 appearances in all competitions, of which 36 came in the Premier League.
Bissouma’s Whoscored ratings for 2020-21 are impressive – 7.01 from 31 appearances in CM and 6.99 from four at DMC.
One of the Malian’s displays, in the 0-0 draw with Everton in April, prompted this compliment from Gary Lineker.
