Former Arsenal midfielder, Ray Parlour, has been speaking on TalkSPORT and is adamant the Gunners need to sort Bukayo Saka’s contract urgently.
The England winger has been in fine form for Arsenal this season but has yet to pen to paper on fresh terms. That has sparked some fans to panic a bit, with a number of clubs said to be keeping a close eye on Saka’s contract situation.

And Parlour, speaking this morning on TalkSPORT, believes the Saka situation is one Arsenal need to get a grip on ASAP or risk a case of Deja vu.
“We’ve seen it so many times happen at Arsenal. People have gone on free transfers. Back in the day Van Persie went for a free more or less, then Nasri was in the same situation,” Parlour said.
“So now you’ve got to highlight who you want to keep, whose the key players going forward. I’m sure there’ll be so much interest for Saka, all the big boys would come in and try and sign him. So now sit down with him, get him on a good contract – Martinelli’s in the same boat – you’ve got to try and nail him down as well. You’ve got to get these youngsters to sign up and believe that this team is going somewhere.”
TBR’s View: Saka Will Sign Arsenal Contract
Saka doesn’t seem like he wants out of Arsenal at all and surely this new contract is just a matter of time. He seems settled, happy, and is playing regular football under a manager who trusts him.
If Arsenal did somehow managed to bodge this and Saka did move on, then it would go down like the biggest lead balloon possible with Gunners fans. Spotrac claims Saka only earns around the £30k-a-week mark right now, which in PL terms, is peanuts.
Saka is integral to Arsenal now and in the future. Parlour, then, is bang on the money here.
