Ray Parlour impressed by Arsenal youngster Bukayo Saka

Ray Parlour has hailed Arsenal youngster Bukayo Saka for his latest performance in the emphatic 4-0 win over Newcastle United at the weekend in the Premier League.

Mikel Arteta’s side picked up three points at the Emirates Stadium to move up to 10th in the table and will be looking to embark on a strong run of results.

Saka once again caught the eye for the Gunners with his display, as he slotted in at left-back once again.

The 18-year-old is fresh out of the club’s academy as an exciting winger, but has stepped up as cover in the full-back area in the first-team and done a brilliant job.

He managed his seventh assist of the season by setting up Nicolas Pepe’s strike against Newcastle and he also has three goals too in just 24 senior appearances.

Former Arsenal midfielder Parlour was left delighted by Saka’s latest contribution and also explained he hopes the club resolve his future.

The Daily Mail reports that Arsenal are trying to lock him down to a new contract as it expires in 18 months time, but that there is interest from Liverpool, Manchester United and Bayern Munich.

“Saka was excellent again on the left-hand side, he had another really good game [against Newcastle],” Parlour told talkSPORT.

“I think he’s got to get tied down now on a new contract, I think they are trying to organise that at the moment.”

TBR’s View:

Saka has looked the real deal since being drafted into the main Arsenal group and it looks like he will be a familiar face at the Emirates Stadium.

With summer signing Kieran Tierney injured for most of the season so far, it has fallen on promising teenager Saka to play left-back and he’s been quality despite the fact it’s not his number one position.

He’s shown why he is a winger by trade with his attacking play and he looks a real handful with his pace plus trickery when he flies forward.

But most importantly for him he’s getting exposure in the Premier League and it’s making him a much better player.
