Ray Parlour has told Alan Brazil’s Sports Breakfast Show on TalkSPORT (Thursday, 08:50am) that Arsenal need to move quickly and bring in Carlo Ancelotti, who was sacked by Napoli on Tuesday evening.
Ancelotti was sacked by Napoli despite guiding his side into the last 16 of the Champions League. He was relieved of his duties just hours after Napoli beat Belgian side Genk 4-0 to reach the knockout stages of the competition.
The Italian has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal as well as Everton, though it is believed that Ancelotti wants the Arsenal job more than The Gunners want him. Mikel Arteta and Patrick Vieira are supposedly front runners for the job.
Former Arsenal midfielder Parlour has urged his old side to bring Ancelotti to The Emirates, and believes they need to get a deal done quickly – using Tottenham’s move to bring Jose Mourinho as an example.
“Yeah, I’d have him,” Parlour said. “You’ve got to move quickly. Look at Spurs, they had a plan. Mourinho replaced Pochettino straight away. Ancelotti has got to ask the board if they’re going to back him, if they’re going to give him money to spend.”

TBR’s view – Would Ancelotti be a good appointment for Arsenal?
The Gunners need a manager who can sort out their defence and get the players working hard again. The backline is an issue at the moment, with the north Londoners last keeping a clean sheet on October 6 in the Premier League.
A serial winner, Ancelotti has all the tools Arsenal require and given that he is out of work and it would not take any compensation to bring him in – the former Chelsea boss would be a stunning choice to fill Unai Emery’s shoes.
