Ray Parlour has stressed he wants to see Arsenal player Nicolas Pepe find more consistency in his game, citing Tottenham counterpart Heung-Min Son as the perfect example that he needs to try emulate.
Pepe, who is on a £100,000-a-week deal (Spotrac), was back in the Gunners starting XI on Thursday to help his side win 4-1 against Molde in the Europa League group stages.
The 25-year-old right-winger managed a goal and assist in the contest to show his quality, but it had been a frustrating evening prior to that where he was just lacking the final ball.
He’s yet to nail down a starting position in Mikel Arteta’s best XI, but has made positive impacts during his chances in Europe of late.
Meanwhile, 28-year-old attacker Son is one of the most in-form players across Europe right now and is a superstar at North London rivals Spurs.
The 28-year-old left-winger took only a matter of seconds to set up an assist for his team on Thursday when used as a substitute in the Europa League again Ludogorets and is delivering on a weekly basis in the Premier League.
Parlour has explained that Spurs star Son is outperforming Pepe when it comes to influence on the pitch and he wants to see the Arsenal man become more consistent.
“Pepe has just got to get that little bit more consistency during a game… I just want to see if he can string four or five excellent games together,” Parlour told talkSPORT.
“The big players, let’s go back to Spurs, Son does it every game and makes a difference in that team every single game and that’s what Pepe doesn’t do at the moment.

TBR’s View:
Son is on a different level to most of the Arsenal squad right now in terms of his form this season, scoring 10 goals and supplying five assists already in 12 games.
The South Korean attacker looks at the peak of his powers right now and has developed into a Premier League superstar in the last couple of years, so at this moment in time it’s a little unfair comparing him to someone struggling to break into the Arsenal XI.
There is understandably a lot of pressure on £72million man Pepe (BBC) and he’s got to be doing more, but the quality is there from the left-footer and Arteta needs to keep working to get the best out of him.
