Ray Parlour asked whether Harry Kane is better than Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour has conceded that Tottenham striker Harry Kane is better than Gunners talisman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gabonese hitman has dragged the Gunners through the season at times – even at this early stage – but as per Talksport, Parlour says Kane is the superior player.

Parlour was asked if certain Premier League strikers were better than the Arsenal star and on Kane, he said: “I’d probably go Harry Kane.”

He also said Aubameyang is better than his Gunners strike partner Alexandre Lacazette. He said: “He’s a quality player, but he’ll score you more goals, Aubameyang.”

TBR’s View – Parlour right to back Kane over Aubameyang

This debate will rage on and on and of course both players are absolutely outstanding. Kane is improving his all-round game and can score goals from anywhere.

Aubameyang’s pace is blistering and he is continuing to score goals in an Arsenal side which is so leaky at the back and Unai Emery has to work out how to get his front three firing without marginalising the former Borussia Dortmund man out on the wing.

Recently, Kane neglected to give Jadon Sancho a penalty for a hat-trick on international duty, while Aubameyang gave Nicolas Pepe a spot-kick against Aston Villa at the weekend to let him get his first Arsenal goal.

Which mentality would a manager prefer? Personally, in that role, goalscoring trumps everything and Kane is the king of single-mindedness. Aubameyang is probably in better form right now. It’s so close, but Kane edges it, as Parlour says.
