Another weekend ticks by and it’s another weekend of frustration for Tottenham, who were seen off in relatively comfortable fashion by Wolves in the Premier League this afterrnoon.
Goals from Raul Jimenez and Leander Dendoncker ensured Wolves took the three points and bounced back from what was a damaging loss in midweek against Arsenal. Bruno Lage’s men looked every bit a European contender and on another day, might have even scored a few more.

For Spurs, their manager Antonio Conte once again is left to go back to the drawing board. There were some positives again but as usual, there were plenty of mistakes on display. And speaking to the BBC after the game, Wolves goalscorer Jimenez admitted that the Wolves players knew there’d be chances.
“It was always the plan to come here and do our game with the ball and make them run. We knew we would have opportunities. We needed to capitalise and score the goals,” Jimenez commented.
“We knew sometimes they concede goals for losing ball when they are doing their game. We had those opportunities. We had troubles this season scoring but today we did what we wanted. We are always confidence. We know what we can do. We are in a good time and we can keep improving and go higher in the table. We are dreaming big.”
The win for Wolves moved them to within three points of fourth placed West Ham. For Tottenham, it’s not all doom and gloom either. Conte’s side are just four off the top four themselves, and have games in hand.
TBR’s View: Tottenham Need To Sort Defensive Issues
Whether it be from the midfield or the fact certain defenders in this Spurs side don’t quite seem up to it, the crux of the matter is that Conte need to sort this, and quickly.
Tottenham have some of the best attacking talent in the land in Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son. But going the other way, things look worrying. Conte, then, simply has to get on top of things or European qualification will slip away.
