If Leeds United fans take a look at statistics website WhoScored they can see just who their best players were, according to analysis and figures last season.
The site, which has Middlesbrough’s Adama Traore as the number one player in the Championship last season, has Pontus Jansson as Leeds’ best player – the 45th best in the Championship overall.
Pablo Hernandez and Luke Ayling both make the top 100 but other than that, you have to look further down the list for more Leeds players.
In fact, if you go to the very bottom, you will find a Leeds player. WhoScored places Dutch attacker Jay-Roy Grot as the worst player in the Championship this season with an average rating of 6.13.
It is, something of a harsh brush to paint Grot with. He only started one Leeds game. The other 19 appearances were all as a substitute. He also bagged one goal and one assist in those games.
But it does show how most Leeds fans felt about the 20-year-old, which was uninspired.
The big man failed to win over Leeds fans last season and this summer has a massive task on his hands convincing his new boss Marcelo Bielsa that he can be of use.
After a season which has seen him labelled the worst performer in the league, the Leeds talent must do everything he can this summer to improve. Then he can go about proving the stats wrong next season.
