Raphinha’s agent Deco talks up Brazilian after completing £17 million Leeds move

Raphinha is a Leeds United player, and the Whites appear to have a top player on their hands if comments from the star’s agent are anything to go by.

The South American completed his move to Elland Road from Rennes on transfer deadline day, with BBC Sport reporting the fee as £17 million plus add-ons.

Raphinha will now bed in and look to challenge the likes of Jack Harrison and Helder Costa for a regular starting berth.

A lot of good things have been said about Raphinha and it seems he’ll have a good chance of breaking into the starting XI eventually, and the man who manages him Deco – once of Barcelona and Chelsea – has delivered a particularly exciting verdict.

He told Lance: “Raphinha is a player of incredible quality, he can adapt to the most diverse styles of play.

“It was like this where he went and in the Premier League it will be no different, especially at Leeds, who play a purposeful, offensive football, he has everything for it to work out. I’m sure he will make history.”

Of course agents are always going to talk up their player after a move, but the fact that this is Deco talking – a highly respected player in his day – surely adds a bit of extra weight.

The idea Raphinha is adaptable is an added bonus, with Marcelo Bielsa obviously experimental with his team selections and tactics.
