Rangers winger Glenn Middleton may have teams running scared already.
The precocious talent was selected to start by Steven Gerrard at the weekend against Livingston.
He didn’t let his coach down, and laid on an assist for Daniel Candeias to open the scoring.

The Gers went on to win the match 3-0 to keep pace with Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
Although Middleton registered an assist, it was not the youngster’s busiest game and it became apparent that Livingston viewed him as a huge threat.
Whenever he got the ball he was often doubled up on, a tactic that wasn’t in effect as much for other players.
Are teams already running scared of Middleton?
Livingston’s coping mechanism told its own story.
They clearly felt that the Scotland youth international was a massive threat for the visitors, and they decided to try and nullify him by crowding him out.
If anything, it’s a testament to Middleton’s ability that they felt the need to double and, at times, triple up on him. And they aren’t the first side this term to adopt such tactics to try and stop him.

Middleton has enjoyed a fine season followig his promotion to the first-team by Gerrard.
According to Scouted Football, he has five goals and four assists across 583 minutes of game time this term. That means he has averaged one goal involvement every 65 minutes which is outstanding.
He is making huge use of the opportunities handed to him by Gerrard, and surely he will become a regular starter in the side if he keeps threatening consistently.
