Liam Burt has confirmed that he will be leaving Rangers at the end of his contract after the Gers decided not to renew his current deal – and many of his teammates have responded on Twitter.
The 20-year-old winger has failed to break into the senior side on a regular basis, and although he has won five Scotland Under-21 caps, his time at Ibrox is over.
Burt did manager three senior appearances for Rangers, all of which came under manager Mark Warburton. But since his last senior appearance as a sub against Hearts in October 2016, he has failed to play for the first team.
The winger posted on Twitter that he was sad to be leaving the club he joined as a boy aged 15 after a stint with Celtic’s youth side, but is excited to “kick on” in professional football.

It remains to be seen where Burt’s next move is, but the likelihood is that he could join a Scottish Championship side in the near future – or drop down south.
It seems that Burt was well-liked by his teammates at Rangers, with plenty responding after the decision not to give Burt a new deal. Jamie Barjonas, Kieran Wright, Stephen Kelly and Kevin Thomson all posted on Twitter.
