Rangers transfer: Player takes ‘huge step’ to leaving club as agent meets with UCL side
Alfredo Morelos is reportedly one step closer away to leaving Rangers as the striker’s agent is in Portugal to hold talks with FC Porto.
According to A Bola, Michael Gorman, the Colombian’s representative, is in Porto to meet with club president Pinto da Costa over a potential transfer.
As per the report, ‘a huge step’ between the two parties if an agreement over Morelos can be made.
Porto have been rumoured with a move for Morelos since the window opened for business last month. The Portuguese giants will join Rangers in the UEFA Champions League next season after finishing second in the league table.
The Rangers star was one of Steven Gerrard’s best performing players last season. The striker scored 17 goals and assisted 13 in all competitions for the Gers.
As well as Morelos, James Tavernier is linked with a move away from Glasgow this summer. 90min report that four Premier League clubs are keen on the Rangers captain.
With two years remaining on his current contract, Morelos could be a prime target for some clubs this summer as well as an ideal player for Rangers to sell based off how much he could be worth.
Indeed, at the age of 25, the South American hitman is hitting the prime of his career. And after multiple years dominating the Scottish Premiership, Morelos could be tempted for a new chapter in his career.
