If Lewis Ferguson is, indeed, a player that Rangers are currently looking at, then perhaps he has just ensured that a future bid from the Gers is much more likely with a brilliant performance against Steven Gerrard’s side on Wednesday.
Rangers are now two points off the Scottish Premiership summit after squandering a two-goal lead at Pittodrie. Scott Arfield and Ryan Jack had put the Gers 2-0 up during the first-half.

But Aberdeen struck back with goals either side of the break to ensure that the points were shared. John Gallagher was named man of the match. But it appears that many Aberdeen fans would have given the award to one of his teammates.
Lewis Ferguson – who, admittedly, was fortunate not to give away a penalty after fouling Alfredo Morelos – was excellent at Pittodrie.

And that may not be a huge surprise to Rangers’s sporting director Ross Wilson. The Scottish Sun reported last month that Wilson had identified Ferguson as a potential replacement for Glen Kamara.
Could Rangers make January move?
It remains to be seen if Wilson does push for the Gers to make a move for Ferguson. Of course, Rangers will probably only be focused on keeping Kamara until at least the end of the season.
But perhaps his performance on Wednesday will have caught Gerrard’s eye. There were plenty of Aberdeen fans on social media after the game lauding the midfielder and insisting that he is destined for great things.
