Rangers target Kevin Nisbet has admitted that he is “flattered” to be linked with a “massive club”.
However, he remains happy at Dunfermline. In an interview with The Evening Times, Nisbet addressed the Rangers rumours and said that he had to make a good career choice.
The 22-year-old has been in impressive form for Dunfermline this season. Since joining in the summer, he has struck 11 goals in 19 games. This includes six goals in the Scottish Championship and a cup hat-trick against Albion Rovers.
Nisbet is on a hot streak at the moment with four goals in his last three matches. His impressive form has caught the attention of Rangers, according to The Herald.
Nisbet on Rangers links
After hearing of Rangers’ interest, Nisbet spoke to The Evening Times. He said: “I’m really flattered that there is interest there, but you’ve got to remember that it’s nothing more or less than just that.
“Rangers is a massive club so I want to keep doing what I’m doing. From there we’ll see what happens, really. I don’t support either of the big two but I’ve got to think about the rest of my career. Right now at Dunfermline it’s perfect, it’s where I want to be.”
This move needs to be right for both Rangers and Nisbet. The Glaswegian striker is enjoying a fine spell at Dunfermline after a disappointing start to his career at Partick Thistle.
It might be too soon to move to Rangers – especially with Alfredo Morelos and Jermain Defoe in form. The 22-year-old needs to prove himself over a longer period of time before making an Ibrox switch.
