Rangers supporters react to Europa League group stage draw including Porto

Rangers made it into the group stages of the Europa League with a last-gasp victory over Legia Warsaw last night have now learned their fate.

They will face Porto, Swiss outfit Young Boys and Feyenoord in a strong-looking group as they seek to go one better than last season and get into the knockout rounds.

That’s a group full of teams who could well have been Champions League sides not so long ago and should bring about some good away days for the supporters.

They certainly seemed keen on the draw when the Rangers official Twitter account asked the supporters what they made of the hand their side had been dealt.

They seemed happy with their side’s chances of getting through and the size of the clubs they’re facing – there’s a confidence there that they can make it through and enjoy the ride along the way.

Gerrard seems to have kicked Rangers up a gear this year – although the first true test of that will come when the Old Firm rivalry resumes this weekend – and that’s reflected in the supporters’ confidence up against some quality sides.
