Rangers supporters react as club could reportedly let Jake Hastie go on loan

Motherwell are reportedly in talks to sign Rangers winger Jake Hastie on loan as he struggles to break into the Gers side – and many Rangers supporters are happy to see the Scottish ace depart temporarily.

Hastie joined Rangers in the summer of 2019 after an excellent breakthrough season with Stephen Robinson’s Motherwell. He scored seven goals in 18 games and that saw Rangers strike a move for 22-year-old Hastie.

However, since joining Rangers, Hastie has found the competition intense. Indeed, he managed just two appearances in his first season at the club – instead going on loan to English club Rotherham.

Three goals in 16 saw him return to Ibrox in January, but he has failed to pull on a Light Blue shirt since. The likes of Jordan Jones, Greg Stewart, Ianis Hagi, Ryan Kent and others sit ahead of Hastie in the pecking order.

The Scottish Sun claim Rangers and Steven Gerrard have told Hastie he can go on loan for a second time – and Motherwell are in talks to lure Hastie back to Fir Park. Whether a deal is agreed, remains to be seen.

Rangers supporters have reacted on Twitter to the reported news that Hastie could be on his way back to Motherwell, and many are all for the idea. One fan even suggested a swap for Well midfielder Allan Campbell.
