Rangers slipped to a 2-1 reverse against Celtic on Sunday afternoon to fall 13 points adrift of their rivals.

The race to win the Scottish Premiership is now over bar the formality of shouting and Steven Gerrard has plenty to ponder next season.

Alfredo Morelos’ sending-off made it an uphill struggle for Rangers but they gave it everything.

Ryan Kent restored parity for Gerrard’s team on Sunday with the on-loan Liverpool man very impressive.

Gerrard has been speaking in his pre-match press conference today ahead of tomorrow’s game with Hearts.

He believes that Kent was the best player on the pitch in Sunday’s Old Firm derby fixture, saying:

The 22-year-old was involved in a confrontation with Scott Brown and it remains to be seen whether or not he will face retrospective action.

Kent has been in fine form this season scoring six goals and contributing six assists to Rangers’ season.
