Borna Barisic’s future this summer is up for discussion amid reported interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Gennaro Gattuso’s Napoli – and the Rangers star’s agent has spoken out, performing a u-turn on the player’s future

Football website 90Min claimed earlier this month that Tottenham want to sign 27-year-old Barisic, who has starred for Rangers this season – laying on a whopping 14 assists in 38 outings. It is believed he is rated at a whopping £22million.

Tottenham have been joined by a former Rangers man in looking to land Croatia international Barisic. Gattuso is keen to lure the former NK Osijek star to Napoli, with Faouzi Ghoulam linked with leaving the Italian club.

Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport broke the news that Gattuso was looking to sign Barisic. However, Barisic’s agent Ives Cakarun has performed a u-turn. Earlier this month, Cakarun said Barisic would leave – but now he may wait 12 months.

“Napoli? Borna is concentrated only on the path with Rangers until next summer,” Cakarun said, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.

TBR’s view – Barisic would be a stunning signing for Tottenham

Ben Davies is a consistent left-back that will give you a 100 per cent, week in, week out. But he lacks the technical ability to have an impact in the final third, and is better on the left side of a three-man defence, than an attacking left-back.

Barisic, though, is much better in the final third. Laying on an assist almost once less than every three games, and has even netted two goals this season, Barisic is technically gifted. He would be a top addition to Jose Mourinho’s side.
