Rangers star Ryan Kent praised by Owen Hargreaves
Rangers star Ryan Kent has earned praise from Owen Hargreaves on BT Sport, after coming off the bench to create his side’s only goal on Thursday.
Steven Gerrard’s side kept their Europa League hopes alive with a point against Brondby in Denmark, equalising through substitute Ianis Hagi.
Rangers, though, were poor for the best part of an hour. The game changed when Gerrard made a triple sub, bringing on a completely new attack.
Alfredo Morelos, Fashion Sakala and Scott Arfield were replaced by Hagi, Kent and Kemar Roofe. Joe Aribo dropped back into the midfield.
Speaking on the BT Sport highlights show, Hargreaves was full of praise for Rangers star Kent – who laid on the assist for Hagi’s equaliser.
“Technically, he’s one of their best. Such an important player in goals and assists; direct, positive. Out for six weeks, you got a point to prove, hungry.”

At Ibrox, Rangers were excellent – easing past Brondby. A 2-0 win that could have been far greater, Rangers were much the dominant side.
But in Denmark, clearly, that atmosphere and occasion made the Rangers players nervous. Gerrard had to do something, and he should be praised.
His ruthlessness got a spark out of his side for the last 30 minutes. Kent looked like he had not been injured for more than a few days.
His first outing in six weeks, Kent ran at the defence and his gorgeous little pass into Hagi was the difference. A point, but Rangers are better than that.
