Rangers’ on-loan midfielder Ross McCrorie is already making waves at his temporary club Portsmouth. Steven Gerrard allowed the talented midfielder to head to Fratton Park this summer, with some fans disappointed he was not sticking around at Ibrox.
His talent is clear to see and Portsmouth fans are already enamored with the versatile 21-year-old.
It is not just the fans either. The local sports press think Pompey have a gem in the Scotland under-21 captain.
Portsmouth defeated Stevenage 1-0 in pre-season at the weekend and Rangers’ loan star was the standout performer. As reported by The Portsmouth News the Ibrox talent was ‘head and shoulders the standout player’ for Pompey.
His manager Kenny Jackett is clearly happy with the player, as he told Portsmouth News after the game.
‘I’ve got a lot of time for him and hopefully, he can continue that (level of performance).
‘It’s a good start for him and he’s got great energy. I’m looking forward to seeing how he does for us.
‘We’ve got to give him the space to run. He has a really good general, all-round game.”
Rangers fans will no doubt be pleased to hear their talented midfielder is settling in so well at his loan club.
Many were disappointed to see him leave Ibrox this summer. However, if he can build upon his successful start at Fratton Park, this could be a huge development season for one of Rangers’ top talents. Steven Gerrard will certainly hope so.
