Joe Aribo scored a beautiful goal for Rangers on Sunday afternoon as Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side beat Hearts 2-0 away from home. The Ibrox midfielder has earned Instagram praise from Michael Beale.
Aribo, 25, has been instrumental to van Bronckhorst’s start as Rangers manager. Starting five of the six games under the new manager, Aribo was only taken out of the side in the dead rubber against Lyon.
Nigeria international Aribo netted his fifth goal of the season on Sunday, at Tynecastle. After Alfredo Morelos had put Rangers 1-0 up, ex-Charlton ace Aribo made it two with a glorious touch and finish.
Plucking a long ball over the top with a gorgeous first touch, Aribo followed it up with a clinical left-footed finish. Rangers held on to win 2-0, with Allan McGregor making numerous, excellent saves.
Aribo took to Instagram after the game, posting a video of his effort. It sees Aribo take his tally to 22 goals in 120 league and cup appearances for the Glasgow outfit, as Rangers remain top.
Beale message to Aribo: Rangers star biggest beneficiary under GVB?
Ianis Hagi looks like he is going to be first choice, while Calvin Bassey is being used at centre-back. Nathan Patterson is also looking more and more likely to get minutes under the new Dutch manager.
But Aribo might just be the biggest beneficiary of van Bronckhorst’s arrival. Beforehand, he was rotated alongside Scott Arfield, Ryan Jack, Glen Kamara and others. Now, he looks to be first choice as a no.10.
