Bournemouth are apparently open to selling Jermain Defoe this month.
The veteran striker has played very little football this term due to the form of Callum Wilson and Josh King, and he’s even behind Lys Mousset in the pecking order as well.
Defoe signed for the Cherries in the summer 2017 following Sunderland’s relegation to the Championship.

It hasn’t been a stellar stint for the Premier League legend, but obviously he is in the closing stages of his playing career now at the age of 36.
Sky Sports report that Defoe would apparently welcome the chance to play regularly again.
One team that have been linked with Defoe’s services is Rangers, who Sky (via The Daily Star) have branded as the clear favourites to land him.
Defoe could improve Morelos
As well as playing a part in helping the team, Rangers signing Defoe could mean they’d be bringing in a mentor for Alfredo Morelos.
Morelos has had an impressive season as Rangers’ main striker.

So far he’s scored 20 goals and made 10 assists in all competitions, and his importance to the team cannot be overstated.
His finishing has been pretty good, but he could certainly learn a thing or two from Defoe.
The Englishman has scored 163 Premier League goals in his career, with finishing having always been his best attribute.

Working with Defoe in training could potentially see Morelos become more prolific.
He must have a lot of useful tips to pass on having been at the top level for so long.
