News from Bolton Wanderers recently might be of interest to Rangers. The Trotters are in well-documented financial difficulty. It has led to much debate over the future of the club’s players. One such player is central defender Mark Beevers.
The Bolton News has reported chairman Ken Anderson as stating the club will not be selling players off in the winter. However, given their situation, there is no doubt Steven Gerrard might have to consider a move for Beevers.
As reported by the Daily Express, Rangers are still considering bringing in a left-sided defender in the winter. Whilst Millwall’s Jake Cooper appears to be a £3 million first-choice, Bolton’s Mark Beevers is also reportedly an option.
Rangers should surely be able to negotiate a deal to bring him to Ibrox.

The former Sheffield Wednesday and Millwall defender is out of contract in the summer and Bolton are clearly not in a position to let a valuable asset leave on a free transfer.
Whilst perhaps not as classy an option as Cooper, Beevers would still provide further cover at centre-back, with Rangers boss Gerrard clearly not completely convinced with the options he brought in over the summer.
A decent offer would leave Bolton in a sticky situation regarding Beevers, who has scored two goals in his last three games for the relegation-threatened Trotters.
Rangers know a thing or two about taking advantage of a struggling club, it happened to them a few years back. They will surely not be averse to doing the same thing.
