According to The Scottish Sun, Championship side Bristol City are keen on Scottish wonder-kid Ryan Gauld.

It is unclear whether they will pursue a permanent deal or a loan move for Gauld, who currently plays for Sporting Lisbon in Portugal.

Gauld is out on loan at second tier side SC Farense at the moment, where he has caught the eye with some impressive displays.

The 23-year-old came through the academy at Dundee United and was tipped for the top at one stage.

But his career seems to have hit a standstill in Portugal and a move back to the United Kingdom could work for him.

In light of Bristol City’s interest, Rangers should launch a move for the diminutive attacking midfielder, who could be an exciting project.

The midfielder play-maker possesses a lot of natural, technical ability on the ball and can create and score goals.

With game time hard to come by at Sporting CP, Gauld might be tempted by a return to Scotland and Rangers would suit him well.

Under Steven Gerrard, the former Scotland under-21 international could take his career to the next level.

And he would strengthen Rangers’ options in pursuit of the Scottish Premiership title.

Gerrard should make an enquiry ahead of rivalling the Robins for Gauld.
