Rangers are set to rival Leicester to complete the signing of Serhou Guirassy from Amiens, according to The Courrier Picard.
The 23-year-old talisman has scored four times in 13 Ligue 1 games this season and is viewed as a player with potential.
Roma, Bologna and Chievo are also thought to be keen but Rangers are now starting to show interest with the Premier League side.
It’s perhaps surprising that Guirassy is attracting interest. The target man only signed for Amiens in the summer, penning a contract until 2022 having cost £5 million from Koln.
The uncompromising forward started his career with Stade Lavallois and has also played for Lille and Auxerre in his homeland.
Whilst playing for the France under-20 team he netted four goals in nine appearances.
TBR Verdict – Guirassy would be the ideal player for Rangers
The Light Blues are blessed to have Alfredo Morelos and Jermain Defoe in their ranks but both are very similar.
Guirassy arriving at Ibrox would give boss Steven Gerrard the ammunition to mix things up a bit in his attack.
Morelos is on fire and he is certainly the main man. Guirassy to go alongside him when chasing a game, however, might be a useful asset for the Gers.
With Leicester flying high in the league, their interest will surely tempt Guirassy into considering the Premier League.
He might not be ready for that leap, however, and if Amiens do decide to sell, Rangers could be the perfect career move.
