Southampton chase James Tavernier

Rangers captain James Tavernier is a January target for Southampton, according to The Express.
The Saints have loaned Cedric Soares out to Inter Milan with a view to a permanent deal and have identified Tavernier as their replacement.
But Rangers will demand £8m for Southampton to commence talks over a deal to sign the 27-year-old, who is also wanted by Brighton.
Matt Polster deal close

Rangers are one step close to signing Matt Polster after he was granted a work permit, The Scottish Sun reports.
The 25-year-old underwent a successful trial at Rangers and is now hoping to finalise his move to Ibrox.
Predominantly a full-back, the USA international has also played as a midfielder for Chicago Fire and his versatility could add options for Steven Gerrard.
Wes Foderingham to stay?

Gerrard has confirmed that he wants Wes Foderingham to remain at Ibrox for the rest of the season, The Daily Record reports.
The 28-year-old has played second fiddle to Allan McGregor all season and the arrival of Barrow goalkeeper Andy Firth has fuelled further speculation about an exit.
But Gerrard said: “He’s desperate to be a number one. I don’t want to say Wes is 100 per cent staying because I don’t know what the next few days will bring.
“I want to keep him, I want him to push Allan to play but of course we all know things can change.”
