Former England striker Darren Bent has admitted in an interview with Sky Sports’ Goals on Sunday that he would consider a move to Celtic or Rangers.

The 35-year-old played with Jermain Defoe at Tottenham and revealed that he would be interested in following him to one of the Old Firm.

Bent, who has been a free agent since leaving Derby County last summer, said: “I think it’s fascinating though, as when you talk about Rangers and Celtic, you’re talking about arguably two of the biggest clubs in world football. It’s definitely something I would want to do.”

Rangers defender Nikola Katic has blasted Kilmarnock’s tactics, comparing their physical approach to a rugby match, The Scottish Sun reports.

The Croatian centre-back was frustrated that Rangers were unable to break Killie down in last weekend’s 1-1 draw.

After the match, the 22-year-old said: “In the second half they made bad fouls, it was like rugby. They stand and block us on the edge of the box.”

He also added: “To be honest, I have been really surprised at how physical the football is in Scotland.”
