Gerrard explains on-field chat with Jack and Kamara
During yesterday’s 4-0 win over Dundee, Steven Gerrard held an on-field discussion with midfield duo Ryan Jack and Glen Kamara.
And the Rangers boss has revealed that he wanted to make it clear that they should “rattle some cages” by reminding team-mates to keep their standards up, The Daily Record reports.
Gerrard praised the pair and said: “I thought Glen and Ryan’s standards didn’t drop, they were probably the only two. So the advice is that when they smell that in future, go for a few people and rattle some cages because it’s not acceptable.”
Gerrard describes Defoe as a midfielder’s “dream”
Jermain Defoe scored his fifth goal in nine games for Rangers after coming off the bench against Dundee.
And Gerrard has told the club’s official website that he used to love playing alongside Defoe.
Gerrard said: “I used to love playing with him; he’s a dream for a midfielder because his movement tells you where to play the ball.”
Ex-flop Umar Sadiq scores first goal of the season
Gerrard’s summer 2018 signing Umar Sadiq has finally scored his first goal of the season.
The Nigerian forward joined Rangers on loan from Roma last summer but looked poor in all four of his appearances.
In January, the loan was cut short and the 22-year-old joined Perugia. Sadiq finally scored his first goal of the season in a Serie B game against Venezia last night.
