Steven Gerrard dismisses Graeme Shinnie rumour as “speculation”
Steven Gerrard has dismissed the rumours linking Rangers with a move for Aberdeen’s Graeme Shinnie as mere “speculation”, The Daily Express reports.
The 5-cap Scotland international has scored four and assisted four for the Dons this season and has been linked with the Gers.
But Gerrard poured cold water on these rumours, saying: “It’s all speculation. It’s part of being the Rangers manager. Every time I get my media briefing or clips, we are linked with five or six different players.”
Matt Polster spotted in training pictures
Matt Polster has been spotted in training ahead of tonight’s Scottish Cup clash with Aberdeen, as seen on the club’s official website.
Rangers posted a gallery of training pictures and the American defender is present in several shots.
Whether Gerrard chooses to throw the 25-year-old in for the Scottish Cup match tonight is another question.
Gareth McAuley out, Borna Barisic fit
Gerrard has provided an injury update on two players that missed the last Rangers match and it is mixed news, the club’s official Twitter account reveals.
Veteran defender Gareth McAuley remains out with a hamstring issue, despite being named in the Northern Ireland squad.
But left-back Borna Barisic provides a squad boost by returning from illness, although he faces a battle to wrestle the starting shirt back from in-form Andy Halliday.
