Rangers round-up: Besiktas want Barisic, Sadiq faces axe and Solanke top target
Besiktas want Barisic
Turkish journalist Ilke Cancanoglu has claimed on social media that Besiktas want Borna Barisic.
The Croatian left-back only joined Rangers in the summer and his time at Ibrox has been plagued by injuries.
But that has not put off Turkish giants Besiktas, who are keen to sign the 26-year-old this January.
Barisic made his long-awaited return from injury last Sunday – his ninth appearance of the campaign.
Umar Sadiq’s loan to be cancelled
Umar Sadiq’s time at Rangers appears to be coming to an end.
According to The Scottish Sun, Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is ready to cut Sadiq’s season-long loan spell short in January.
The 21-year-old, on loan from Roma, has failed to score in his five appearances for the Gers and his performances have been widely criticised by the fans.
And Gerrard is ready to get rid of the Nigerian striker to make space in his squad for a new forward.
Dominic Solanke: the new striker target
According to The Scottish Sun, Dominic Solanke is being lined up as the striker to replace Sadiq.
Gerrard is keen to use his links with Liverpool to sign the England under-21 international on loan.
Prolific at youth level for club and country, the 21-year-old needs a loan move to develop his game.
With game time looking limited at Liverpool, former Chelsea attacker Solanke could be set to join Rangers this January.
