Ryan Kent faces an uncertain future as he heads into his summer break. Ahead of pre-season for the 2019/20 season, Kent does not know where he will be.

According to The Daily Record, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will make a decision on Kent. Klopp wants to check on Kent during pre-season before sanctioning any loan or permanent moves.

If Liverpool deem him surplus to requirements, Rangers will be waiting. Steven Gerrard wants the winger back after an impressive season in Glasgow.

The speedy and skilful winger was a regular for Rangers last season. He scored six goals and provided nine assists in 43 games and fans feel he can kick on next term.

Kent could have options this summer. But a return to Rangers surely makes the most sense at a pivotal stage of his career. Whether he returns to Ibrox on loan or permanently, this is a move Kent needs to complete.

At Rangers, the 22-year-old is getting regular playing time in a starring role. He is in a familiar environment and his game is developing impressively under Gerrard’s watchful eye.

If he stays at Liverpool, Kent would surely be little more than a back-up option. And moving elsewhere on loan or permanently would not guarantee him the same chances.

Rangers are on the up under Gerrard. If Kent returns, he could be part of an exciting project – there could be a key role for him to play in Rangers’ future.
