Alexander Kacaniklic rejected a move to Rangers after reportedly holding talks with the Ibrox club. Should Celtic now consider a move for the talented Swede?

FotbollDirekt reports that the 27-year-old even travelled to Glasgow to meet with Rangers before he chose to join Hammarby in his home country. He was a free agent.

The winger boasts enormous talent. He has turned out for Burnley, Watford and Fulham in the Premier League and has 19 caps for Sweden to his name.

Plenty of pace and an eye for goal, Kacaniklic came through the Liverpool academy. He previously played for Nantes in the top tier of French football, clocking up 26 appearances in Ligue 1.

Kacaniklic has recently endured a difficult spell in his career of late, struggling to find a permanent home. But his talent would certainly see him shine in the Scottish Premiership.

Celtic, meanwhile, could do with wingers come the summer. Timothy Weah is only on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, while the Scottish Sun claim Scott Sinclair’s contract is yet to be sorted. His current deal ends in the summer.

That would leave Neil Lennon’s side with just James Forrest out wide. Lewis Morgan and Mikey Johnston are yet to show first-team quality, while Jonny Hayes has been better used as a left wing-back.

Bringing in a player of Kacaniklic’s quality would be a huge coup for Celtic. His decision to reject Rangers would make him an instant favourite among the Parkhead crowd.

If Celtic decide to sign the ex-Copenhagen star, he would certainly boost the Hoops’ chances of 10 in a row.
