Dapo Mebude starred for Rangers Under-18 side on Thursday night as they beat bitter rivals Celtic to win the Scottish Youth Cup 3-2 – and Gers fans reckon he is better than Celtic’s Karamoko Dembele.
Scotland Under-19 international Mebude, 17, scored the Teddy Bears’ second goal, lashing home a loose ball from the edge of the area through a crowd of players to put Rangers 2-0 up.
Rangers had taken the lead through Ciaran Dickson after Celtic failed to defend a corner. But Celtic equalised through Cameron Harper and Paul Kennedy in quick succession.
Nathan Young-Coombes had the last laugh, heading home a Kai Kennedy free-kick. The latter had a penalty saved by Celtic goalkeeper Liam Hughes, but Rangers held on to win 3-2.

Mebude shone throughout the match and was crucial in helping the Gers earn all three points. Boasting speed, trickery and an unwavering eye for goal, he has been superb for Rangers’ reserves and under-18 side.
Dembele, 16, also played in the youth cup final but the England Under-16 star was unable to help Celtic overcome their Old Firm rivals.
Rangers fans reacted on Twitter to Mebude’s performance, and many believe that he is better than the impressive Dembele who has earned plenty of praise over his displays for Celtic’s youth teams.
