Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers will be hoping to extend their impressive winning run in the Premiership and maintain a healthy distance from their Old Firm rivals in today’s match at Ibrox.

The Light Blues are in formidable form, having won their last five league games, and prior to their midweek Europa League draw had won their last nine in all competitions.

So, who could Gerrard pick in his starting XI to face Premiership basement side Hamilton today?

The Gers boss has put together a superb squad with plenty of strength in depth so he could easily switch things round following a tough game at Benfica on Thursday.

One player who could come in is Jon McLaughlin, who hasn’t played since the win at Ross County a month ago and could give Allan McGregor a break whilst clocking up much-needed minutes.

Filip Helander, meanwhile, had a poor day at the office on Thursday and, with Leon Balogun in great form, Gerrard could reward him with a start today ahead of the £3.5m Swede.

The rest of the defence is likely to be kept the same, with the Nigeria international deployed alongside Borna Barisic, Connor Goldson and James Tavernier.

Assuming Scott Arfield doesn’t pass a late fitness test, Gerrard could deploy Joe Aribo in the middle, with Glen Kamara and Ryan Jack either side of him.

With Barisic and Tavernier likely to spend much of the game further up the pitch, this midfield selection would allow for more cover at the back.

Alfredo Morelos is in good form and should lead the line, with Ryan Kent to his left and potentially a fresh Ianis Hagi to his right, the 22-year-old having been benched the last two games.

Rangers predicted XI (4-3-3): McLaughlin; Tavernier, Goldson, Balogun, Barisic; Jack, Aribo, Kamara; Hagi, Morelos, Kent
