Rangers player Jamie Murphy reaffirms his love for club with Twitter tribute

Steven Gerrard brought the winger to Rangers permanently after an impressive loan spell at Ibrox.

He’s become something of a forgotten man at Rangers, but Jamie Murphy reminded fans at Ibrox just how big a Gers fan he is this week.

He sent out this tweet, highlighting Rangers’ victory over Fiorentina in the UEFA Europa League semi-final from 11 years ago.

The Glasgow side signed Murphy on a permanent deal from Brighton in May. It was a welcome move from Rangers, after a successful loan spell. The deal, according to Sky Sports, cost the club around £1 million.

The Glasgow-born childhood Rangers fan had been brilliant at Ibrox. His form with Rangers earned him his first Scotland cap and clearly won Steven Gerrard over.

However, the 29-year-old’s season came to an abrupt end in August. He suffered an ACL tear, ruling him out for the rest of the season.

Rangers have Jordan Jones arriving from Kilmarnock in the summer, as well as lining up a permanent move for Ryan Kent. Murphy, therefore, has his work cut out for him, as he nears a return to action.

But when he is back fighting fit, Rangers fans can rest easy in the knowledge he will be giving his all for the club he clearly loves.
