Barrie McKay’s talent has not been in doubt throughout his career, but Rangers did not see the best of him under Pedro Caixinha.
Having come through the ranks at Ibrox, he eventually left the club in 2017 to rejoin former Gers boss Mark Warburton at Nottingham Forest and is now impressing as part of a new-look Swansea City attack.
Despite his current good form, the Scottish forward has told the Evening Times that he would ‘seriously think about’ coming back to Ibrox in the future.
That should encourage Steven Gerrard to launch a bid, either in January or the summer transfer window.

The August departure of Josh Windass has left Rangers in need of a long-term creative solution and McKay fits the bill perfectly.
He clearly has a strong sense of feeling for the club and is an unpredictable wideman capable of making things happen.
Although Graham Potter will likely want to keep him at the Liberty Stadium, so many players have left Swansea in recent seasons that it is definitely worth testing the Welsh club’s resolve. They tend to sell at the right price.
Second time around, under Steven Gerrard, things would likely work out much better for McKay.
