Rangers must tie down permanent Lassana Coulibaly deal before Glen Kamara swoop

This week has seen Rangers linked with the signature of Finland international Glen Kamara. The Daily Mail reports that the Glasgow side wants to bring him to Ibrox from Scottish Premiership rivals Dundee. The likes of Sunderland, Wolves and Celtic are also said to be keen on the former Arsenal talent.

Rangers are certainly not in the wrong to be targeting Kamara. He could be a big benefit to Steven Gerrard’s side. With the 22-year-old’s contract expiring in the summer, it appears he could be available on the cheap come January.

But Rangers should be prioritising the signature of another midfielder ahead of Kamara.

The player in question is Lassana Coulibaly. The Mali star has been excellent for Rangers this season, following his arrival on loan from Angers on a season-long loan.

As reported by the Scottish Sun last month, Rangers are hoping to bring Coulibaly in permanently next summer. However, Rangers should be pushing to get the deal done as early as January.

Coulibaly has proven himself at Ibrox so far and at just 22-years-old himself, is a talent Rangers would be lucky to have sticking around at Ibrox.

No buying fee has been mentioned in any reports, so Coulibaly could prove a big investment. But when it comes to building the spine of a team, he could very well be a priceless addition.
