Rangers lost their top spot in the Scottish Premiership after a goalless draw against Hibernian.
Steven Gerrard accused his players of lacking a “killer instinct” after their 1-0 win over Hamilton Academical, The Daily Mail reports.
And he was proven right against Hibernian as Rangers failed to break down their opponents.
Despite the return of Alfredo Morelos, the Gers still could not find the net.
Rangers have been over-reliant on Morelos’ goals this season with the Colombian netting 11 goals this season.
But he has received little support from Kyle Lafferty, who has four goals in 17 games and has not scored since September.
The Hibernian stalemate should convince Gerrard to step up his interest in red hot striker Fran Sol.

According to TEAMtalk, Rangers are among a number of teams keen on signing Sol this January.
The Gers will compete with Celtic and a clutch of Premier League and Championship sides for the 26-year-old.
But Rangers are desperate for reinforcements up top to boost their title hopes.
Sol has scored 13 goals in 17 games for Willem II this season in the Eredivisie.
Formerly of Real Madrid’s youth side and Villarreal, the Spanish striker could be Rangers’ solution to their striker woes.
Alongside Morelos, Sol could lead Rangers to a serious title bid.
