It says a lot about Glen Kamara’s performance in Saturday’s Old Firm game that Connor Goldson scored both of Rangers’s goals in the victory, yet still seemingly had to share most of the headlines with the Finland international.
Kamara was sensational for Steven Gerrard’s men. He simply dominated the midfield battle, and his Celtic counterparts could not get near him at times.

His display was so good that former Rangers captain Barry Ferguson told the Daily Record that he was laughing while watching the game thinking about the fact that he cost just £50,000 in 2019.
Kamara’s display will not have come as a great surprise to many of the Ibrox faithful. And they may well have been joined by a host of clubs in expecting to see the 24-year-old steal the show against the Hoops.

90 Min named nine clubs in August who were monitoring Kamara, including five from the Premier League. He may not have moved in the summer, but it is surely likely that he remains on the radars of many.
Kamara’s display should prompt Rangers into action
Rangers fans were subsequently provided with reason for encouragement earlier this month. Gerrard suggested – in comments reported by the Daily Record – that the club plan to offer Kamara a new contract in the near future.
Kamara’s current terms expire in 2023, according to the Record. So the Gers remain in a strong position as things stand.
Nevertheless, perhaps Kamara’s Old Firm display should prompt Rangers to step up negotiations. After all, the January window is not too far around the corner.
It would be a big statement for Rangers to tie Kamara down before any real speculation can start up again.
And at the very least, Kamara penning fresh terms would be a fantastic way for Rangers to keep the momentum flowing after a win that has definitely handed them the early initiative in the title race.
