Fresh off the back of Oli McBurnie claiming he’ll play for Rangers one day, January could be the perfect time to launch this move.
McBurnie is a boyhood Rangers fan and he is in good form in the Championship for Swansea City.
With seven league goals to his name this season, the towering centre-forward is among the top scorers in the division.
And Rangers are in desperate need of a striker. Alfredo Morelos leads the line admirably but he cannot keep producing the goods without some back-up strikers helping him out.
The Colombia international netted his sixth league goal of the season yesterday but Rangers need to find alternative scorers.
Kyle Lafferty has been hit and miss since his return to Ibrox and Umar Sadiq has been disappointing.
McBurnie would solve that problem, although he may cost a bit. The Scotland international would be a shrewd long-term investment, though.
The 22-year-old is a proven success in England’s second tier and he would be able to score goals in Scotland.
Rangers need strength in depth to push on and compete with Celtic.
McBurnie could become the perfect strike partner for Morelos and his love for the club would surely help him become a fans’ favourite with the Gers.
