The majority of Rangers’s first-team may have enjoyed a weekend without a game, but one member of Steven Gerrard’s squad has still managed to get himself into the SPFL Team of the Week.
The senior side were not in action. But Graeme Murty took Rangers Colts into the semi-final of the Challenge Cup with a 2-0 win over Wrexham at Ibrox on Saturday.
It was goals from Jamie Barjonas and Nathan Young-Coombes that saw the Gers reach the last four.
Barjonas’s goal came 10 minutes before the break, with the midfielder placing the ball into the corner after a cross from James Maxwell.
And it was Barjonas who has made it into the SPFL Team of the Week. Here is the team in full…

It is another reminder that Rangers could have something special on their hands in Barjonas. The 20-year-old has been incredibly impressive for Murty’s men this season.
His development was acknowledged by Rangers last month. The club announced on their official website that he had signed a new contract that is set to run until 2021.
He may still have plenty of work to do to break into Gerrard’s midfield. Rangers have been outstanding in the middle of the park this year. But he is arguably staking a very good claim as he looks to get back into the first-team fold.
