Rangers are said to want Ryan Kent permamently this summer.

The winger has impressed massively during his season-long loan at Ibrox, and is a firm fans’ favourite.

The Liverpool man has made 28 appearances for the Light Blues this term and scored five goals.

His dribbling and direct style have made him stand out, and Steven Gerrard is said to be keen to turn his loan move permanent. as is managing director Stewart Robertson, who said of the player (quoted by The Scotsman): “He wouldn’t be cheap but if opportunity comes up to retain him we will explore it.

“He’s a great player. We have an excellent relationship with Liverpool but too early to say.”

With Kent under contract with Liverpool until 2022, a cheap and straightforward transfer does not seem likely, but there could be one way for Rangers to make it happen.

Morelos transfer could fund Kent deal

Alfredo Morelos has been linked with a move away from club, with Leicester City and Borussia Dortmund both credited with interest (Sky Sports).

Robertson believes he can get as much for the Colombian hotshot as Celtic got for Moussa Dembele, which was around £19.8 million last summer.

Rangers may not wish to lose Morelos, but his fantastic goalscoring season is sure to make that at least a possibility.

But if Rangers do lose the South American, then it does provide them with a means to get Kent in as one of their own.

There has not been any word on how much Liverpool would want for Kent, but he surely would not come cheap.
