Glasgow Rangers are seemingly closing in on Giovanni van Bronckhorst as the new Ibrox manager.
However, it’s not a foregone conclusion by any means, with reports suggesting there’s another manager in the Rangers frame.
That manager is Frank Lampard, who looks to be on the Gers radar once again after ending talks with another club.

The Scottish Sun believes the 43-year-old could be having talks with the Rangers hierarchy this weekend.
And the Daily Record claims that Rangers have spoken to Lampard’s representatives.
Admittedly, both outlets report that Van Bronckhorst remains the preferred choice at Ibrox.
But given Lampard apparently dropped out of talks with Norwich, he’s still bound to be in the frame.
‘Perfect’ alternative for Rangers if Van Bronckhorst talks don’t succeed?
Lampard did well at Derby, beating Manchester United in the third round of the League Cup in 2018 and getting the Rams to within a whisker of promotion to the Premier League.
He then joined Chelsea and led them to fourth in the Premier League – qualifying for the Champions League – and the FA Cup final, despite a one-window transfer embargo.

However, the Blues opted to sack Lampard at the start of this year, replacing him with Thomas Tuchel.
Although Lampard’s time at Chelsea culminated in his dismissal, that’s not exactly rare at Stamford Bridge.
Over the years, some of the greatest managers in world football have also been sacked from the role, including Antonio Conte and Carlo Ancelotti.
Jose Mourinho previously spoke of Lampard’s “great potential” (The Mirror) while Jurgen Klopp described him as a “fantastic manager” back in 2018 (Liverpool official website).
And Harry Redknapp recently told the Scottish Sun that Lampard would be “perfect” for Rangers.
“over 100 caps for England, won everything as a player, great football man, top manager, made for the highest level,” said Redknapp.
“Frank could do it no problem. He’s got great knowledge of the game and is a hard worker.”
