Rangers will be desperate to improve their squad for next season. Steven Gerrard has put some belief back into the fans at Ibrox, with the gap to Celtic finally starting to narrow.
One player that Rangers fans will want back at Ibrox next season will be Ryan Kent. The Liverpool loanee had a fantastic season for Gerrard’s men and his performances in the Old Firm games, in particular, had fans wanting more.
However, teams south of the border are also keen on the wideman. One of those teams is reportedly Aston Villa. As suggested by The Sun, Dean Smith’s side are keen on the player and could pay up to £10 million to bring him to Villa Park.

So events at Wembley yesterday might have just made Rangers task of signing him permanently even harder.
Aston Villa defeated Derby County in the Championship play-off final yesterday and will be back in the Premier League next season. As pointed out by Alan Nixon, the Sun journalist who reported on Aston Villa’s interest, that is going to make the Villans clear favourites to sign Kent now.
Rangers have the Steven Gerrard factor in their favour. They can also point toward European football next term and the chance to continue growing his reputation as an Ibrox fan favourite.
But with Premier League football and money now on offer for Kent, Rangers have a massive uphill battle trying to secure Kent permanently.
